When I first met Amelie she was 15. It is striking how talented and “fully formed” she was even then. She has developed and evolved her craft and sound over these passed 3 years. Keep an eye on her… Here is a song that I recorded. I remember she asked if we had time to do one more quick one. Just a take with her singing, playing guitar and light cello accompaniment. Meet Joel.
I have collaborated with an array of artists in New York, throughout the country, and abroad. I cut my teeth recording and performing with singer-songwriters and instrumental groups and have been working with artists in many many genres now for over 15 years. For the past 10 years, I’ve focused on recording, producing and mixing and have loved it.
My approach to music is simple:
I always listen and support the song or composition. And of course, we always want to make it feel good! As a producer, engineer and mixer, I want to capture the sonics and emotional impact that the artist is looking for. It’s an ongoing conversation with the artist and the music from start to finish…
The Studios
My space in Hastings-on-Hudson has been primarily and mixing/overdub room for a number of years. It’s the perfect, relaxed environment to edit, arrange, overdub and mix your recorded material. Three years ago, I became a member of Newtown Recorders, a collective of like-minded producers and engineers (owned and operated by Chris Butler).
